Handmade cards and more fun

Here are some shots of my handmade goodies from our 3D Materials and 3D Design Summer Fete back in June.

Knitted hats

Hand knitted cozy hats for winter. Already enjoyed by many. Above looser knit slubby yarn, below, thicker Rowan 'big wool' with zig-zag motif worked into pattern; different yarns change the look drastically.

I also like to knit.

I also like to knit. I find when I work in textiles, I can allow myself to get a bit "cute". It's good to be girly sometimes!

Summer VR - Shoreham

The shelves looked a bit bare so here's a few photos I've taken for my summer visual research. I'm especially moved by vivid, washed out, synthetic colours in this project, but I am at a lost as to how these will translate into my 3d workshop pieces in ceramics and metal..

Foundation Final Project

Gearing up for my second year on Brighton University's 3D Materials Practice course, I've been bitten by the blogging bug. Let's see how well this works out...

Here are some older images of past work, namely from my foundation end of year show. The self directed project was named 'Formative Restraints', I explored the idea of a meditative sense of release a submissive person knowingly puts themselves into through subjecting in bondage. Making a conscious effort to lead the viewer away from the more stereotypical sordid, smutty connotation BDSM can have.
